About

Our Store

Quiltz in Ashland has been part of the Oregon sewing and needlepoint community for decades.  We are located in vibrant downtown Ashland, OR (with parking right at our doorstep!) where shops, restaurants, and beautiful, walkable parks bring many visitors to linger and enjoy the Ashland lifestyle.

Our Staff

Only people who love fabric and needle arts work at Quiltz!  Collectively, we represent many decades of experience in sewing.  You can bring in your projects and ask us construction and design questions… or you can consult with us from square one — choosing a pattern and fabrics.  We love sewing, and our favorite part of the day is seeing what our customers are up to!

Debbie, our shop owner, is the needlework guru. Almost all of the needlepoint and cross stitch samples were made by her.

Karen loves teaching quilting, designing patterns, and making art quilts. If you want to know about a new product on the market, she is usually up on it. She is also the contact for the Rogue Art Quilters, so talk to her if you creating an art quilt.

Nancy, our store manager, is a whiz at machine embroidery. She has created every quilt in the store that has machine embroidery on it.

Carolyn loves Kaffe Fassett fabrics, French Country and blended quilts. If you have questions about any of these, she is the one to talk to.

RaJean makes most of our beautiful store samples. She also does wonderful needlepoint and hand embroidery. She and Carol collaborated on our current Block of the Month.

Carol loves handwork, whether it is quilting a whole cloth quilt,  or hand appliqueing wool for a Sue Spargo design. If you have questions about handwork, she is the one to see.

Claudia creates amazing art quilts and patterns – everything from Asian-inspired to landscape to useful things, like cell phone holders. In between, she also teaches some of our classes.

Anne does wonderful applique and she has kept us up to date with a monthly calendar quilt.

Our Town

Whether you live here year-round or are visiting, Ashland’s beauty will first capture you with the unique geographic setting of being nestled at the base of the convergence of the Siskiyou and Cascade mountain ranges at nearly 2,000 feet in elevation. We have both the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the Southern Oregon University to lead the cultural charge for our community.

Ashland is filled with tons of local talent, too!  We know, because we’ve seen our customer’s quilts!
